gnartoons:
I’ll be at the LA Zine Fest next weekend, so come by and say hi! Aaaaand as soon as I step away from Tumblr I’ll be finishing up inking the last couple pages for a brand new book that I’m debuting at the show, so come get a copy of that too!
Here’s a short interview I did for the zine fest:
lazinefest:
Describe your zine style. What can we expect to find at your table?
I draw comics and self-publish all of my own work. Most of my books feature lino-cut covers that I print myself by hand, the books are all signed and numbered and sell for $5. If you can get to my table early you can pick up a free copy of the latest issue of Intruder Comics, which is an alternative comics newspaper that is self-published by myself and 14 of my cartoonist buddies in Seattle.
What are your three favorite small-press/DIY publications?
A few of my favorite self-published cartoonists include Tim Root, Chris Cilla, Max Clotfelter, Jason T. Miles, Cameron Forsley, Malachi Ward and Tom Neely. But that’s only just a short list of a few of my favorites, I really enjoy most comics that are drawn by people who are obviously having a lot of fun writing and drawing what they want to. That “fun” quality is really important to me when I’m reading comics and I think it shines through very clearly when it’s present in a book.
